"'m gonna bike TWICE today!" I told Wendy today, with exaggerated excitement.
"Meh," said Wend. "You should add some weight training in, mate - that burns fat and tones muscle. Don't get that combo on your bike."
I looked, a little guiltily, at the weights I own. The weights I've barely used in over two years.
"Hmm..."
"Just sayin'", she just said. "It'd help..."
So did I turn around and pull out the weights?
No, of course not.
As it happened though, today we needed a "water run". As the name suggests, that's when we borrow Ma's car - more often than not, kidnapping Ma in the process - and fill it with water from the local supermarket, to last us a couple of months.
Today, we brought home...well, quite a lot, all in all...of water.
Did I ever mention we live on the first floor now?
I reckon, overall, schlepping that lot up to the first floor was the equivalent of a few good reps today.
And I still biked twice, so nehh...
