Walking Back To Happiness

Blood was 5.6 this morning - possibly a sign that the walking is helping to regulate the metabolism again.

Went for a walk with Ma this morning - Merthyr to Cefn Viaduct and back - about three miles all told. Big Sunday lunch at Ma's, so waaay more than the walk would have burned. About to go upstairs and get on the bike.

One thing I can tell you for sure - I feel better about being alive since I've started walking again than I did last week during my time of indulgence.

Endorphins...may have mentioned this before, but they're bastards. Still, for now, they're working in my favour. Feeling good, feeling happy, enjoying the walking. Hoping to get up tomorrow and take maybe a handful of hours and try and do a ten-mile walk, on the principle that if walking some distance makes me feel good, then walking more distance has to make me feel better. Clearly nonsense as principles go, but I've kinda set myself a goal to walk ten miles on at least one occasion and get this, run two miles on a different occasion without having my heart explode this month.

Heading briefly to the Taff Trail website before going upstairs - trying to figure out where five miles on the Trail takes me...
